The 2015 general elections may
have come and gone, but the commentaries and analysis of thre elections and its
outcome will linger on for quite some time.
The independent National
Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the All Progressive
Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari, the winner of the keenly contested
elections. I have one or two things as take away from this election.
1. The votes was widely cast according to ethnic
lines
2. The
Northern and South westerners used their high voting population to the
advantage of the APC
3. The
2015 election can be described as the freest and fairest of elections in
Nigeria
4. The
statesmanship and shrewdness of Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, was astonishing. He
proved all doubters wrong and just like a Samurai, he showed, practically, that
his words are his bond; history will be very kind to him
5. The
President, by his act of humility, has made himself, the Father of Modern
democracy in Nigeria
6. The
APC has preached change, we await their having to practicalize change
The Electoral umpire, Prof.
Attahiru Jega should be commended for the mannerism of his conduct of the
elections. He rose above all odds and pressures, to show tht integrity is not
lack of opportunity, but a free choice!!!
